SHIPPING 2026 SEASON BEGINS

The container plants are all uncovered, stood up, and treated with herbicide and order pulling and truck loading and customer pick ups have begun! The plants appear to have overwintered with a very low mortality rate- one of the best rates we can recall.

Schedule your deliveries now for the coming months so we can meet your delivery expectations. The fuel surcharge levied by our two trucking carriers is nearing an all-time high. At this moment it appears freight charges will be slightly increased from last year, but we will absorb most of that cost by continuing to offer competitive freight rates. The freight charge as a percentage of the dollars shipped last year was 7.4%. As of now I believe the additional charge will be approximately 10% more than last year and will decrease when fuel retreats from its current highs.

The early spring is a nice contrast and provides a few additional weeks of sales and this trend is reflected in the last few weeks of sales. B&B Spruce continue to be in short supply.
